Founded in 1980, Hungry Ear is Hawaii’s oldest record store. They offer the state’s largest new vinyl collection plus an extensive used LP and CD sections. They also specialize in rare Hawaiian albums.

It’s always been a special place to me, and after speaking with their customers, it’s clear others feel the same. There was a pair from North Carolina whose husband spent the majority of the time in the Hawaiian section. A cute couple who went through every single new and used record bin. There was a group of friends from NYC who picked up a rare find on their last trip, a sweet guy wearing an A24 shirt, so naturally, we had to talk about what we were watching, and more new friends.
